Is it true?

SRT Racing Dodge Dart

At the New York International Auto Show in 2012, a Dodge Dart turbo four-wheel drive rally car was shown, after the earlier release of a rendering. The blue-and-white SRT-badged car will enter Global RallyCross Championship racing competitions, driven by professional rally car drivers including four-time Rally America Champion Travis Pastrana.[29]
It is a race car for the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship (GRC) Series. Based on 2013 Dodge Dart, it included a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve turbo-charged engine rated 600 hp (447 kW) and over 550 lb·ft (746 N·m) of torque, Sedav 4-wheel drive transmission. [30][29]

If it's true, than Chrysler's engine has good potential for turbo and mods :)

Yeah are we even sure its the same 2.0 liter engine used in the regular Dart? Like you said, it could be a special 2.0 liter engine completely different from anything else.

I think the only thing it shares with the 2.0 is the size...

It would be awesome if it is the same engine, just stronger internals and better flowing heads/etc.

I was sorta thinking the same thing...

Even if it was nearly the same engine, it isn't designed to run reliably for over 100,000 miles.

I saw it, just doesn't make any sense for me, loud, noisy, not impressive at all. slow....

Ken Block's gymkhana ford fiesta has the same power but looks much faster and better handling than Dart IMO

.. that would be the power-to-weight advantage of a smaller car. These Darts are FAR larger than the Fiestas. Noisy? So are the Fiestas and Saabs and Subarus that are racing with it. The speed/acceleration is identical to the Fiestas; with these cars it's all in the suspension tuning. The Dart is pretty damned quick, he just had alot of bad luck this season; and not a whole lot of time to test it, since it was a new car. I hope it gets better next year.

Block won, maybe two races this season; so I wouldn't put him on a pedestal just yet, unless you're one of the fan-boys.
In fact, according to [The Standings] Block was 4th-to-last; Pastrana was 6 above that, so.. yeah.

Straight from the [GRC Website]

Rallycross vehicles are production-based, and derived from cars anyone can buy for their daily commute. The fastest cars in the series are modified, 600 hp, all-wheel-drive turbocharged monsters that go 0-60 in less than two seconds. Drivers describe the experience of piloting these cars as trying to rein in an angry beast. They are loud, aggressive and exciting to watch – especially when they take flight over the course's unique 70′ gap jump.

There are two divisions in Global RallyCross Championship competition: Two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Cars are further separated into class by build level with a "Limited" class for close-to-stock competition cars and "Super" for the highest spec vehicles in the series.

.. the cars we watch on ESPN are Super class - mostly roll-cages with the wide-body stock car sitting on top of it.
